Hello to my Union family. As I relaunch my campaign to remain your Union President, I want to acknowledge that frustrations with our employers remain high and this resentment is often also pointed towards your Union. I share in your anger against Frontier but want to assure you that this frustration has in no way diminished my will to fight and more importantly to win. In our last contract, I led the bargaining committee in moving all technicians into the core contract, and while achieving retiree healthcare for eligible members until they reach Medicare. Many thought the reestablishment of retiree healthcare would be impossible, but it has now been replicated by other CWA contracts around the country. We also maintained some of the strongest job security language in all of Frontier. Maintaining this language, has proven to be the key reason why CT has had no involuntary job loss in any title at Local 1298. I recognize that there is a clear need to strengthen our contractor language to protect our work and our overtime. Where wages, benefits and job security are always a priority this too will also be on the top of my list. I will also focus on expanding our work at home language to allow our inside members better protections to continue to work from home. I am the right person to achieve these goals. I have the experience, and I will continue to work diligently to deliver the best contract we can achieve. It's important we elect the right leaders who have experience negotiating and representing members. I know I am not your only choice in this election, but change is only good when there’s a better option. Although my opponent is a good Union member, he lacks general contract knowledge and basic concepts of labor law. His inexperience has put our members in harm's way in the past. Do you want to trust your wages, job security and overall livelihood with someone who has ZERO bargaining experience? I would be honored and privileged to continue to serve you as your President. I am committed to working tirelessly to represent the members of CWA Local 1298 and I’m asking for your support to make this happen. In solidarity and with appreciation, Dave.
